Google Ads work for Hyderabad clinics when each treatment has its own campaign, keywords are grouped by intent, negatives are built before launch, and every ad lands on a matching condition page. Run separate campaigns for the city and for district patients who travel in. Judge the budget by cost per treated patient, never by clicks or cost per lead.
Picture a man in Secunderabad, up at two in the morning with pain in his side, typing "kidney stone doctor near me" into his phone. Or a woman in Khammam searching for a knee surgeon in Hyderabad for her mother. Both are ready to act. Google ads put you in front of them at that exact moment.
But I have opened many Hyderabad clinic accounts that were spending every day and getting very little back. The problem was almost never the budget. It was the structure.
Is Google Ads right for your Hyderabad clinic?
Google captures demand that already exists. It suits treatments people search for by name: knee and hip replacement, kidney stones, cataract, IVF, piles, hernia, dental implants. If patients describe your treatment as a problem or a feeling rather than a name, Meta may be the better first channel.
Before you spend, you need four things in place:
- A landing page for each treatment.
- Someone answering the phone during the hours the ads run.
- Calls, forms and WhatsApp clicks tracked as conversions.
- A clear idea of what one treated patient is worth to you.
How should the account be structured?
One campaign per treatment, so you always know what each treatment costs you. Inside each one, split keywords by the four kinds of searcher.
| Ad group | Example searches | What the ad should say |
|---|---|---|
| Treatment | "knee replacement surgery Hyderabad" | Your named method and what the plan includes |
| Cost | "knee replacement cost Hyderabad" | That your plans are all-inclusive and explained in writing |
| Specialist near me | "orthopaedic surgeon Kukatpally" | Your experience, the area you are in and how to reach you |
| Condition | "knee pain while climbing stairs" | A simple explanation and an invitation to get it checked |
Keep matching tight at first, with exact and phrase match. Broad match without data will spend your money on searches you never wanted.
Then write ads that answer the search. Someone typing "cost" wants to know whether the price is clear and complete, so talk about written, all-inclusive plans and EMI options. Someone typing "best knee surgeon" wants proof, so talk about experience and your named method. Add call buttons, your location and links to key pages. And run a small campaign on your own clinic's name and your own name, so a competitor cannot sit above you when a patient searches for you directly.
Should you target the whole city or the districts too?
This is the question that matters most in Hyderabad, and most accounts get it wrong.
The city is large. A patient in LB Nagar may not travel to Gachibowli for a routine consultation, but will for surgery. So set your city radius by treatment, not by habit. Routine and repeat treatments get a tighter area around the clinic. Surgery and high-value plans get the whole city.
Then add a separate district campaign for patients who travel in from places like Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad or from Andhra Pradesh. Why separate? Because they need a different message and a different page. A district patient wants to know how many trips they will need, whether they can return the same day, and whether a family member can stay. Mixing them into the city campaign hides what each audience costs you.
Use only the towns your patients already come from. Your CRM's address field will tell you. And schedule district ads for the hours your desk is fully staffed, because a family planning a trip of several hours will not wait for a callback tomorrow.
Which negative keywords should a Hyderabad clinic add first?
Build the list before you launch. Start with the obvious ones: free, course, job, salary, vacancy, training, fellowship, government, home remedy, pictures, video, PDF. Add the names of government schemes if you do not accept them, so you stop paying for people looking only for those.
Then, every week, open the search terms report. Add the bad searches as negatives and turn the good ones into keywords. Patients in Hyderabad often type in a mix of English, Telugu and Hindi words written in English letters, so this report is where you will find the real local phrases.
Why does every ad need its own condition page?
Because a patient searching for kidney stone treatment should land on a page about kidney stones, not a homepage listing twenty specialities. The page should have a headline in the patient's words, the treatment options, what happens step by step, the honest risks, and click-to-call and WhatsApp buttons visible on a phone without scrolling.
For district patients, add a short section on travel: how many visits, how long each takes and what to bring. Our websites and search team builds these pages for exactly this reason.
How do you judge the budget?
By cost per treated patient. Here is why.
Example: a knee clinic splits ₹70,000 between its two campaigns, ₹35,000 each. The Hyderabad city campaign brings 70 leads at ₹500 and 3 surgeries, which is about ₹11,700 per treated patient. The district campaign brings 35 leads at ₹1,000, but families from Warangal and Khammam arrive decided, and 7 go ahead, which is ₹5,000 per treated patient.
The "expensive" leads were the cheaper patients. If you had judged by cost per lead, you would have cut the better campaign.
To see this, send back to Google which leads booked and started treatment. Do not switch on automated bidding until the account has a steady flow of tracked conversions. And run ads only when someone can answer the phone, because a call that rings out is the most expensive click of all.
Remember the rules too: no prescription drug promotion, no guaranteed results, no unproven treatments. Google also restricts personalised advertising based on health, so plan to win on keywords, ads and pages rather than remarketing. Our patient acquisition work follows these rules from day one.
We work with clinics across India, including Hyderabad, mostly on video calls. You can read more on our Hyderabad page.
The short version
- One campaign per treatment, keywords split by intent, tight matching at the start.
- Separate city and district campaigns, each with its own page and message.
- Build negatives before launch and review search terms every week.
- Judge every campaign by cost per treated patient, not cost per lead.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good monthly Google Ads budget for a Hyderabad clinic?
There is no single right number. Start with a testing budget you can hold for at least three months, then work out your cost per treated patient. If it stays within about 10 to 20% of a patient's first-year value, raise the budget gradually. If not, fix pages and follow-up first.
Should I run Google Ads in Telugu?
Test it. Many patients search in English or in Telugu and Hindi words typed in English letters, so your search terms report will show what they actually use. Write ads that match those phrases and make sure the person answering the phone can speak the same language.
Why am I getting clicks but no patients from Google Ads?
Check three things. Your search terms, for junk searches like jobs and free remedies. Your landing page, which should match the treatment searched. And your phone, because many calls go unanswered or are returned hours later. Most wasted budget comes from one of these.
Can I target patients in Andhra Pradesh from my Hyderabad clinic?
Yes, if those patients already travel to you. Build a separate campaign for the towns that appear in your patient records, with a page that explains visits, travel and stay. Track it on its own so you can see what each district patient costs you.
