Google Ads for Aesthetic Clinics: What to Bid On and What to Block

Quick answer

Google Ads for aesthetic clinics should target named treatment searches like laser hair removal, chemical peels, under-eye treatment and anti-ageing treatment, one campaign each. Block salon, at-home device, course, franchise and machine searches before launch. Avoid promoting prescription product names, send each click to a matching treatment page that shows who performs it, and judge campaigns by cost per treated patient against first-year value.

An aesthetic clinic's Google account usually fails in one of two ways. Either it pays for every curious click in the city, from beauty students to people pricing at-home devices, or it is so cautious that it only bids on the clinic's name. The middle path is narrower than most agencies admit: a handful of treatment searches with real intent, a long list of blocked junk, and pages that answer the one question every aesthetic patient has. Who is going to do this to my face?

Which aesthetic searches are worth paying for?

Searches where someone names a treatment, a price question or a provider nearby. Build one campaign per treatment, each with its own budget, and split ad groups by intent.

Campaign Treatment searches Cost searches Nearby searches
Laser hair removal full body laser hair removal laser hair removal price laser hair removal clinic in [area]
Chemical peels chemical peel for dull skin chemical peel cost peel treatment near me
Under-eye under eye dark circles treatment under eye treatment cost aesthetic clinic [area]
Anti-ageing anti ageing treatment for face anti wrinkle treatment price anti ageing clinic near me

Start with exact and phrase match. Broad match, with no data and no negatives, will spend your budget on "anti ageing cream for 30s" and "best laser device for home use".

Can you advertise injectable products by name?

Be careful here. Many aesthetic searches use a prescription product's brand name. For advertisers targeting India, Google's policy bars prescription drug promotion, both in the ad and on the page it links to. So write your ads and treatment pages around the concern and the outcome, like "frown lines" or "natural anti-ageing treatment by a doctor", not around a product.

Google also bans ads for unproven or experimental techniques, and reviews where every ad sends people. The same rules apply to the page as to the ad. Policies change often, so check them before every new campaign. A suspended account costs far more than the clicks you hoped to win.

Which searches should an aesthetic clinic block?

Build the negative list before launch. A starting set:

  1. Home and products: at home, home device, kit, cream, serum, gel, buy, online order.
  2. Beauty services: salon, parlour, threading, waxing, bridal makeup.
  3. Careers and business: course, training, certification, academy, job, salary, franchise, distributor.
  4. Machines: laser machine price, buy machine, rent machine, second hand.
  5. Wrong intent: free, DIY, side effects (unless you have a page for it), images, celebrity.

After launch, the search terms report becomes your weekly homework. Each junk search becomes a negative. Each good search becomes a keyword. This one weekly half-hour saves more money than any bidding strategy. It is the heart of how we run patient acquisition for clinics.

Write each ad to answer what was typed. "Laser hair removal price" deserves an ad about clear full-course plans and what they include. "Anti ageing clinic near me" deserves the doctor's name, experience and a line on natural results. And run a small campaign on your clinic's name and the doctor's name, so the patient who saw your reel and searched for you does not find a competitor sitting above you.

What should an aesthetic treatment page show?

The click should land on a page for that exact treatment, never the homepage. For aesthetics, the page has a few jobs the ad cannot do:

  • Who performs it, by name, with qualifications. This is often the deciding question.
  • What a natural result looks like, with consented results from patients who look like the visitor, in typical rather than best-case form.
  • What happens on the day, how long it takes, how it feels and what the days afterwards look like, honestly.
  • The risks, in plain words. Honesty here makes everything else believable.
  • How pricing works, whether by plan, area or session, with an honest range.
  • Click-to-call, WhatsApp and a short form, visible on a phone without scrolling.

Match the page to the ad. If the ad promises a doctor-led, natural result, the page must show the doctor and natural results in the first screen.

What should an aesthetic patient cost you on Google?

Judge by cost per treated patient, and value the patient on her first year, not her first visit.

Example: Say your laser hair removal campaign spends ₹60,000 in a month and brings 120 leads at ₹500 each. Eight start a full course worth ₹36,000 each. That is ₹60,000 ÷ 8 = ₹7,500 per treated patient, which is about 21% of ₹36,000, just above the 10 to 20% range.

Your anti-ageing campaign spends ₹60,000 for 50 leads at ₹1,200 each. Six start, each worth about ₹54,000 in the first year with maintenance. That is ₹10,000 per treated patient, about 19% of first-year value, inside the range.

The cheaper leads are not the cheaper patients. Fix the laser campaign first: tighter keywords, a better page, a faster callback. Only then add budget. Switch on automated bidding once the account sends back a steady flow of tracked conversions, including which leads booked and started.

Two more settings that matter for aesthetics. Run ads when someone can answer, often late morning to evening, with an instant WhatsApp reply outside those hours. And target the neighbourhoods your patients actually travel from, not the whole city. Remarketing is restricted for health, so you win on keywords, ads and pages.

Why do clicks not become aesthetic patients?

Usually the problem is after the click. The phone rings out, the WhatsApp reply arrives the next day, or the front desk reads out a per-session rate and says "come any time". A Google lead compared three clinics in ten minutes. Answer at least 95% of calls during working hours and call back every missed call within five minutes. That front desk work is our conversion systems service.

The short version

  • Bid on named aesthetic treatments, one campaign each, with tight matching at the start.
  • Never promote prescription products by name, and check policies before each campaign.
  • Block home devices, salons, courses, franchises and machines, and review search terms weekly.
  • Land every click on a treatment page that shows who performs it and what natural looks like.
  • Judge by cost per treated patient on first-year value. More on our aesthetics page, or book a free growth call.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the word Botox in my clinic's Google ads in India?

Be cautious. It is a brand name of a prescription product, and Google does not allow advertisers targeting India to promote prescription drugs in ads or on landing pages. Write ads around the concern and the outcome instead, such as frown lines or natural anti-ageing treatment by a doctor, and check the current policy before bidding on any product name.

What is a good cost per lead for an aesthetic clinic on Google?

Cost per lead is the wrong target. Track how many leads book, show up and start treatment, then compare cost per treated patient with 10 to 20% of that patient's first-year value. A campaign with ₹1,200 leads can be far cheaper per treated patient than one with ₹500 leads that rarely book.

Why is my aesthetic clinic getting calls from salons and students?

Your keywords are too broad and your negative list is too short. Block terms like salon, parlour, course, training, academy, certification, franchise and machine price before anything else. Then review the search terms report every week. Each irrelevant search becomes a negative, and the account gets cleaner every month.

Should an aesthetic clinic run Google Ads all day and night?

Run them when someone can answer quickly, usually matching your front desk hours. A lead that calls at night and gets no answer is money wasted. If you do want night traffic, set up an instant WhatsApp reply that captures the enquiry and promises a call at a specific time the next morning.
